Default Feature Requests - Is there a BUG?

    Hello all,

I am wondering if you all get alot of feature requests each day?

I've been getting around 3-10 per day. Videos that I know the users did not upload. Do you think people are just pressing the button to see what it does or are they really asking that I feature another persons video? Or is there a bug I need to know about?

    Thanks,
    GG

their is a bit of a bug, i think the same person can continually click either button as much as they want.

Indeed this is a major bug. Or else I'm being spammed to death.

All my videos have been marked as inappropriate several times each
All my videos have been marked as feature request several times each

I have set my site to Approve videos = OFF
But still all my videos show up in Approve Videos to be approved...

I really need a Mark ALL button...
So, I can delete all innappropriate requests at once, same with approval..etc..

As it is now, I have just given up on these pages and features. Why bother when it's filled again in a couple of hours.

I haven't officially released my site yet, so I have little traffic, still these are filled with requests....

Makes me think it's a bug.

The approve button in admin has nothing to do with them, if you want to get rid of the innoppropriate and feature this video buttons do this:

    In View Video.tpl FIND THIS:
    <DIV style="FONT-SIZE: 12px">Flag this video: Feature This!
    Inappropriate

    REPLACE WITH:
    <!-- <DIV style="FONT-SIZE: 12px">Flag this video: Feature This!
    Inappropriate -->

Or you can change it to send you an email something like:

    Code:
    Inappropriate

This be down to bots such as googlebot following the link, looking at my server logs Google bot has followed both the 'Feature This' and 'Inappropriate' link for each of the videos on my site.

I've found another get around :

    In View Video.tpl FIND THIS:
    <DIV style="FONT-SIZE: 12px">Flag this video: Feature This!
    Inappropriate

    REPLACE WITH:
    <DIV style="FONT-SIZE: 12px">Flag this video: Feature This!
    Inappropriate

Basically if the visitor has no 'http_referrer' set then the flag links just point to itself, if the visitor has a 'http_referrer' set then the links work normally.

This means that google and yahoo bots etc will just see links back to the current page so can not flag the video. Admittedly it will also mean that those 'real people' that disable the 'http_referrer' variable in their browser will not be able to flag the video either.

I did try removing the whole block but as I have never done php before I kept getting errors so settled for this for now.

Thanks so much for the "fix". I'll be giving it a try.
