Not sure if I'll upgrade. Everything is running really smoothly now, and don't want to muck things up.
I'm tired of fixing the templates after every upgrade, specifically the minutes thing.
My problem has been fixed, thanks admin!!!!
I, of course, messed something up in the upgrade.. LOL
The sript is GREAT and I love the site stats feature.
ADMIN is my HERO! :)
to admin,
I'm still didn't upgrade the latest Release 2.4 yet. before I upgrade it, just wanna know how about my current (Release 2.3) modification templates? do I need to modify the latest release template again?
Thank You :)
Yeah, that was it....everything was in the "approve this video" part. I went ahead and manually approved each one (not a lot of vids there so I just clicked each one).Quote:
Login to admin and see if videos are listed in "Inactive Video" or in "Approve Video" Link.
Most of the case, it will be fixed by running
Quote:
update video set active=1;
in phpMyAdmin.
THANKS ADMIN!!!!!
I have dowmloaded the full package from the begining and install it.. then I just insert thae data and backup the video and flvideo folders and the problem solved :D
I guess may be the update package is missing some files or something !!

Can you please ask the script developers as which mencoder version do they recommend?
Is the progress bar update applicable for 2.4? I downloaded the zipped file http://www.buyscripts.in/vshare/vshare_ ... pgrade.zip from this thread http://forums.buyscripts.in/viewtopic.p ... r&start=15
and I'm wondering if this applies to 2.4 also.
My progress bar is not showing up. Actually, the video I uploaded didnt show up either.
yes the progress bar works with 2.4 and should for all future versions
Please Help! I have reinstalled the v2.4. Problem I am having is after I import a video from the admin area and press submit I get a "White" screen.
I have loaded all files in binary. Additionally I have read others experiencing this problem but have seen a resolution. Can someone please help or offer suggestions?
Thanks,
Ashley

I am trying to import on purduetube.com.
I am hosting with citrex hosting. Should I contact tham and see if PHP 5 can be an option.
Also, when I installed all of my site orginally I did the install for php 4. I will need to get the download link for full version 2.4 so I can reintall all sites to the Vshare for version PHP 5.
By doing this I should be able to move my template back in place and have limited work to do to get back to where I am now.
What would you suggest?
Thanks,
Ashley
It is better to have PHP 5 as it is latest version.
We will try to have the youtube import working on PHP4.
Do I need to reinstall Vshare or just upgrade on the server to PHP 5?
If I need to reinstall I need the download link to get the full version.
Thanks,
Ashley
Just upgrading PHP will do. There is no need for making any change in your vshare installation.Quote:

Hello-
I also use Citrex Hosting and they said PHP 5 is on the server...
This is what they said:
php5 is there in our server. php5 binary path is /usr/local/php5/bin/php5. Use this binary path to execte your cron.
Do you know what they mean by use this binary path?
I know there is a place in our Vshare admin area where this can go.
Thanks,
Ashley
Since I have updated to the last version, the videoes do not appear anywhere, the message always is the same, video Your is currently being processed and will be available to view in to few minutes. But they do not appear, I have followed(continued) the steps of the forum to correct it, but they do not supply effect, please, there is form of which this returns to work like before the update. Thank you.
Have I to execute cron.php to hand, in order that it works, since I can arrange it?
Check if videos are waiting for approval or activation in admin area.Quote:

Hey there Porkd
regarding /usr/local/php5/bin/php5
This can be set into cron jobs but its the upload video php file which needs to run in php5 so setting the cron is pointless because you'll still get the call to undefined function.
renaming the file to php5 would work but then the compiled code calls a file without that extension so you only get an error.
This might just be a game of waiting for us cirtex people (r u cirtex for citrex btw)

If cronjob is set, it will run cron.php every 5 minutes.
I'm having a cron job related problem on one of my servers at cirtex. The one running fatrat tv.
It won't run the cron job - however I can run it manually via sitename.cron.php
There doesn't seem to be any reason that I can find - nor can cirtex find out what's going on.
Admin - is there an add-on program I can whip up which will activate cron anytime anything is input into the site.
I remember that phpprobid (auction software) had that as an option so that the cron would run anytime someone hit an input button, rather than having the server run the cron.
Cheers

I didn't change anything even login in to my webhost. When just someone upload his videos it become like that
"Fatal error: Smarty error: unable to write to $compile_dir '/home/grindsx/public_html/templates_c'. Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user. in /home/grindsx/public_html/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1095"
Change permission of folder and all files inside the folder /home/grindsx/public_html/templates_c to 777Quote:

I upgraded from 2.3 to 2.4. The 2.3 version has been working great. However, after the upgrade I see the following error when go to the vshare URL:
ERROR: Unable to execute query
select * from video WHERE active=1 AND approve=1 AND type='public' order by VID DESC LIMIT 20
Table 'vshare.config' doesn't exist
However, I can go to the vshare/admin which runs except for some selections.
Thanks for any help.
Tony R
Reason for this is
1. you have not run install/upgrade.php
2. upgrade.php is not working as you have skiped an upgrade. That is if you are using an older version of vshare, used upgrade for v2.3 to 2.4 (this only work if you are using vshare 2.4).
Thanks for the response: My current version that I am upgrading said this:
Version Information
You Are using vShare version: 2.3 Release: 20070730
Latest vShare version is: 2.4 Release: 20070822
You are using OLD version of vShare, you must upgrade.
I downloaded 2.4, ran the upgrade wizard as per the instructions and now the program no longer works.
Any other ideas?
Tony R
What problem you are facing ? Also post your site url.

It seems this script was working fine in earlier versions, but after upgrading to 2.4 I can no longer upload videos.
I've been reading the forum posts on this version and have tried all relevant remedies to this issue.
The video is not converting to flv.
I'm hosted through HostOnNet.com, and have submitted trouble tickets with them with nothing resolved as of yet.
I have also done the vshare_2.4_bug_fix_1, with no luck.
During upload attempt, the progress bar only reaches about half, and then comes up with this message:
Your video was successfully added!
Your video is currently being processed and will be available to view in a few minutes.
When I check the front page, it is not there.
When I check All Videos in site admin, the video is there but with 0.00 duration.
When I check Approve Videos in site admin, it is not there.
However, when I check Inactive Videos in site admin, it is there. So, I click Activate and it puts it onto the site. Then you can go to it, but it will not play.
When I check Process Queue in site admin, it shows the video but under the Status column it shows: Convert Error
Cron Job is working fine every 5 min.
Does anyone else who is hosted with HostOnNet.com have the same problem?
Any suggestions?

I upgraded to 2.4 from 2.3, but the new videos and recently viewed videos only show one video each, basically, the array $new_video[] only has one element! But, it works fine in 2.3. Have you changed the way new videos and recently viewed videos are populated?
Thanks
