Channel ID in video table

Hey, I'm trying to organize channels(catagories) so that a user can view the channel page and see how many videos they have in their favorites, are in each category.. Not sure if that makes sense, but i'll reitterate. A page that has all of the channels(categories) listed, should have a value of the total ammount of videos are in each category, dependent on what videos the person has in thier favorites..... I've been trying to figure it all out but, when I try to see what cataegory a video is in that a person has uploaded, the value of "channel" from the table "video" is something like "0|2|0 "... I have no clue what that is even suppose to mean.. it doesn't seem to identify it in any way really... So, I guess what I'm asking is, might there be some kind of way to get this done? Thanks.

Each channel have a number associated with it. In video table, that number is used as channel.
