Directories not created

We are having a problem that user directories are not created, along with the recent & view directories etc. Seems to be a permissions related problem? We've chmod 777 all the required directories, still no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

There is no such folders, you get 404 error because you do not uploded .htaccess file provided with the script.

Thanks. I had to turn on the AllowOverride All in the httpd.conf so it would read the .htaccess file.
