uploaded 3gp video, but no sound

I have a new problem and hope somebody may help me. I noticed that every time my members uploading their 3gp video fomat, the result didn't come out with sound.

The thumbnail also didn't come out.

This may be because the 3gp use some codec that is not supported by mencoder or not installed on your server.

Try uploading it to http://video.bizhat.com and see if it works. If it works, it should be mencoder installed on your server or you may need to ask in mencoder mailing list to see if the codec is supported by mencoder.

I just uploaded the same video to http://video.bizhat.com and the output also don't have sound. that's mean some 3gp format use a codec that is not supported by mencoder :)

I think I may have the same problem.

A user uploaded this video:

The've re-uploaded it twice now and still now sound. My user tells me that it should have sound and he wants to know if I can fix the problem. I checked and it is a 3gp file format, also I am being hosted by HostOnNet so I would think it should work.

I am also hosted with HostOnNet. I think the sound problem can't fix immediately. this is because some 3gp use the codec that is not supported by mencoder or not installed on your server.

I hope for future, these problem will be fixed :)

it will work but you need the latest ffmpeg/mencoder installed and the amr codec for 3gp sound http://www.penguin.cz/~utx/amr

exactly same problem here, hosted on HostOnNet, tried uploading form my Phone some 3GP files, they play OK bu NO SOUND...
should we all contact HostOnNet and ask them if they can solve the problem with some other Codecs?
