List of COUNTRIES for translation - TPL file ???

Hi there. I've been translating our german video/vshare portal and need to know where, and which file, I need to edit in order to translate the list of country names that becomes selectable from the users profile/update page, and also the section where users sign up for whatever package of choice. I assume that this is all contained in one and the same file, right? Can you please tell me where I can edit that information? It's important because places like Greenland are known as Grönland (special characters) or Greece which is known as Griechenland, or France which is Frankreich here, and so on.
