There are two problems at the moment, namely:
1 - It no longer converts videos, even though it gives a url etc etc..I press play, it stops immediately.
- As usual I fixed myself.....
2 - The download mod that allowed so that only registered users can download no longer works with this one, it says "user not found" is there anyway to get that mod working on this one?
- I fixed this aswell...........
:( Houston, I have problems...
I try to upgrade from 2.5 to 2.6 and now I have a blank page.
I don't know why!
Please Admin, help me. Where I can found the VShare 2.6 complete (not upgrade package)? I need try install all from zero?
Please help!!
You need to upload the files in Binary mode. Try and reupload all files and change to Binary with your FTP client. This should fix your issues.Quote:

This work for me
Hello again
I know im talking to myself again but here goes:
- Ok, I have a dedicated server, my current site has 2,000+ original movies now. I want to add on another hard drive. How do I configure this under remote drive since it`s the same IP. I am on version 2.6
Please, kindly answer me this time.
regards
OK, I'm finally upgraded to v2.6
I encountered a problem.
New videos upload fine. Links work ok and all is fine.
Links to existing videos doesn't work.
For example:
http://www.mydomain.com/view/76/dutch-f16/
only shows up as:
http://www.mydomain.com/view/76//
The videos work fine in admin, but the links don't work for visitors.
I thought it was an .htaccess problem, but uploading the new one didn't resolve the issue.
Any thought on what I can do to get my existing video to work again ?
can we add more sites where we can add videos from
one of my fav sites is zshare.net
if u can add that little mod and let us import vidz from there that would be wounderful
and tell us how can we add more sites
That's rough. Hopefully you'll get an answer soon. Is anyone else having this problem?Quote:

I did not have that problem. I do seem to be having trouble with my cloud tags. They appear on the site and look nice, but they do not seem to be changing. The tags area in right.tpl and tags use to always show the most recent tags first. Now they do not. I'm not sure how to fix that.
I also don't much care for the new message that appears after a feature request is sent. It is a cool upgrade because now it is ajax instead of refreshing the page, but what I don't like is that the text is difficult to notice and people will probably keep clicking the link. It would be a little better with some kind of background or something to draw attention to the text.
Other than that, this is an A+ version in my opinion.
You need to reupload the files in folder admin in binary modeQuote:

Hi after uploading all the files in binary and installing the script with no problems for my son, after about two days with the script being on Hostonet.com nobody can view any videos and the script was working fine. I have upgraded the script to v-2.6 from v2.5 with no errors and I have spoken to the guys from Hostonet as I though it might be something to do with apache.
I have not done anything to the script apart from adding the logos. The site is http://www.facetube.biz which looks fine but when you go here http://www.facetube.biz/view/61/kicked-in-the-face/ for example it comes up with a 404 error
All the videos are on the server and they upload fine but when ever you try and view any of them it just comes up with a 404 error. Have also noticed that the "about us" "contact" "help" and all the pages at the bottom of the script are now also returning a 404 error
Does anybody know why this has happened and what can be done to fix it
regards
Check and make sure your htaccess file is present on the server.Quote:

got an issue after upgrading:
The footer isn't showing for me (therefore the backlink for vshare isn't there too), the last part of the generated page is (at the main-index):
The footer isn't showing anywhere (not only at main), and the bottom advertisement isn't showing either.. haven't edited the templates yet, so the ones which come with the upgrade are up.Code:
Thanks!

It's all quite maddening, actually.
I've been trying to upgrade, and have received every error message imaginable.
Isn't there a place I can simply download a fresh install of ver. 2.6??
Sorry for the angst...
Yes, in your purchase email there is the link to downloading the latest version.Quote:

You are using vShare version: 2.5 (DB Version: 2.5) <---that's all it's telling me...no warning about needing to upgrade...

I downloaded the upgrade yesterday and installed it. I assumed that the latest folder would include the fix for the 5-star problem, but it doesn't. The 5-star rating system is not functioning correctly. I'll try overwriting everything with the files from the latest "fresh install" and see if that doesn't fix it (without having to use the actual fix).
UPDATE: I just tried overwriting everything using the files from a "fresh install" of the latest version 2.6 and the 5-star rating is still malfunctioning. However, I didn't actually do a "fresh install"...just overwrote all the existing files, so I don't know if the "fresh install" would include the fix. Anybody know? (PS: Yes, I did the "fix" and its' working now, I just don't know if the latest "fresh install" includes the fix in it...I am assuming it does).

Thanks, Blizzmo. Unfortunately, I purchased the script a long time ago, and cannot find the purchase email on my computer. For reliability sake, I am using version 2.4Quote:

Disregard last post - problem resolved. THANKS
What was the solution?????
I created a new database, then installed the original 2.2 in a new directory, then upgraded to the next, then 2.4, then 2.5, and finally 2.6.
A PITA to be sure, but at least it's there now. Apparently, something in my original directory or database got corrupted, and no amount of updating it would fix it.
PITA isn't a good enough term! LOL I feel for ya!!!!! But glad you got everything back up to snuff.
For everybody watching: BACK-UP BACK-UP BACK-UP
Once a site is working, that's when one would want to do a back-up and if necessary, burn it onto a disk in the event of some major hardware failure, you'll still have all your stuff! I can't stress this enough. I can't tell you how many times back-ups have saved my butt!!!
I am not entirely sure what is wrong after doing this upgrade.
I was on version 2.4, so I had to do a double upgrade. First I upgraded to version 2.5, and everything seemed mostly normal (other than some template tweaks being gone). Then I upgraded to version 2.6, and suddenly I have no featured videos being displayed (even though they are selected in admin) and my tags box is totally empty. Plus there was a "video of the day" I had added to my index.tpl and that is still showing, and I dont see how since the index.tpl was overwritten.
I'm totally confused.
Rename the index.tpl file and download index.tpl file form http://www.buyscripts.in/vshare/upgrade_2.5_to_2.6.zip
and upload to your server.
I can not explain why, but that does not work. I tried renaming the old file and then uploading the new one, I tried deleting the old file and then uploading the new one, etc. Every time I get the same thing. I thought it might be a chached page so I cleared my cache - no luck. I even tried visiting the site from a computer which had never been to the site before, same result. Everything I know tells me I shouldn't be seeing it, yet I am.
Anyway, I took your suggestion again, and renamed the old file. I took a quick peek and the main body of the index page was empty. It looked promising. Then I uploaded the new file, and I was right back to where I was. Not showing the featured videos is one problem, but what really baffles me is why it is showing me my video of the day, which is not even in the code for the new video file. I swear, I have never been this confused about anything in my life.
Maybe the problem was with something I should have done a 2.5 bug fix on before taking the next step to 2.6?
