yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install, from my dedicated fully managed server, it's even baffleing them about convert issue:
This is what was said last:

Convert works great and is located at /usr/bin/convert . The rest are located
as follows:
/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg
/usr/local/bin/mencoder
/usr/bin/flvtool2
I've tested all of the files and everything works great.

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Is this some bug!
My server has got back to me with this:
Quote:
I just reinstalled ffmpeg and its components. I did a convert of an mps and a
svi file. All worked just fine.
And when I try to convert, I get this everytime:
Quote:
Return value: Exiting...
Running flvtool2: /usr/bin/flvtool2 -U /home/xxxxxxxxxx/public_html/flvideo/11994622201329115951.flv
Convert Error or converted video is less than 1 kb in size, try upload a big video. If that do not work, verify convert command works on the server.
Sorry to be negative, but sort of useless if I have done everything asked, a piece of software going nowhere at the moment for me, would like someone to prove that I am doing something wrong.....
-
Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Check if the command
Code:
/usr/bin/flvtool2 -U /home/abeez/public_html/flvideo/11994622201329115951.flv
Work on your server, if not disable flvtool in admin area.
-
Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Ok Run that command and this was outcome with ssh:

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
By the way can you edit out my username for server, in your last post please, I just noticed I left it on, I edited my other reply with server username, it's not critical, but hey no need to broadcast it......
Thanks Alan

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Looking at this post:
http://forums.buyscripts.in/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2490
Is there a way I can use a host that fully garantees vshare and use that for converting, etc?
Like in admin use the
SERVERS OPTION (will that then mean that all files will go to that server and convert etc?)
-
Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Ah so it looks like admin support reply selectivly to post well how about a reply to this topic please.

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Your flvtool have some problem or permission settings. For now disable it.
For converting, if you have recent version of mplayer properly installed following command will conver the video to flv
Quote:
/usr/local/bin/mencoder '/home/xxxx/public_html/video/hendbaby.avi' -o /home/abeez/public_html/flvideo/11995061141297215868.flv -of lavf -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=56 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=flv:vbitrate=500:mbd=2:mv0:trell:v4mv:cbp:l ast_pred=3 -srate 22050 -ofps 24 -vf harddup
Run the command on ssh and see if /home/abeez/public_html/flvideo/11995061141297215868.flv is created. If not your requirement installation is not proper.
-
Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Multi server support is for storing FLV files. You can host site at multipe hosts, only the main site need to be hosted on server with requirements installed. File storage servers only need FTP and web access, no PHP or anything else.

I disabled flv tool and still errors!
I ran > /home/abeez/public_html/flvideo/11995061141297215868.flv
It replied back with "Permission denied"
So what is the solution to get this sorted I host with liquidweb on dedicated and they see it all works, please some one tell me how to correct this?
Thank you

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Have you changed permission of folder to 777 ? That is allow everyone to write to folvideo folder.

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
The problem is with your mencoder installation, that is not able to convert the video to FLV format. Try reinstalling mencoder, make sure convert command work on the server.

is there a command I can use to directly install mencoder? (I remember seeing one for ffmpeg somewhere on site)
And what command do I use to make sure it converts?

It is needed for downloding latest version of software like ffmpeg and mplayer.

But is it needed on server as part of requirements?
As it doesn't state this?

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
It is not needed to run vshare, it is just a utility needed to download latest version of mplayer.

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Ugh, here I go with another error. Am also getting this convert error for any file that isn't already converted to flv. From reading this post and searching the forum, I still don't have an answer. I am on shared hosting with apthost.com and would really appreciate if someone could get back to me with help for this problem and the other problems I've posted about in other threads. I mean, we didn't pay much for the script, but it is a paid script after all. We can reasonably expect for it to work correctly or atleast get a response to our questions. If I upload an flv it works perfectly. But not all users are going to have flv files.
My site can't go live until these issues fixed somehow and I've been trying to get help for more than 4 days now.
Flvtool is disabled. And I've tried mplayer, ffmpeg, and ffmpeg-php to convert.

Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
Heavenly:
Like me it took ages to find out what the issue was after my fully managed dedicated sserver installed all requirements, I was told elsewhere it could be due to binaries not being updated to latest, I was told that to make sure or check svn is installed on your server for ease of use to download latest binaries or something, all I know that after I sasked then to do this all was working fine, But I don't know if this was the issue or install was not done properly!
Just to add, ADMIN did you read my other topic about not being able to DOWNLOAD, that is the only other issue so far that I can see at the moment.

If you want something easy to install your ffmpeg, mencoder, ffmpeg-php, etc.... requirements, go to http://www.ffmpeg.sherin.in/ and use this guys script. Works perfectly and tells you at the end if it was successful or not. Works on dedicated or shared hosts.

Have you come here to tell people to ease up, what in earth has it got to do with you? This is a support forum, I made one polite reply making a statement not slating the site (& it was not a personal statement to an individual.

Now why would I want to use another script when all is fine now. (Is it your script?) or just a plug for that site?
Chill man and please don't dictate to me on what I reply to and how I reply.

Calm down fuzzy man peach. I gave you a simple solution. Use the link I gave you and you will be happy.
And, the script is to install ffmpeg, not a youtube clone which this site does not install. I was simply trying to help you out and it is not my script. Just don't use it. Others on here might.

Ok, Alan. I will stay out of your requests. I added above about the script so you might understand that the script is not a youtube clone. It is strictly for installing ffmpeg (which is a requirement of vshare). The script is NOT MINE. Maybe someone else will be able to use it. Cheers.

Read back & all replies, not once (I think) was it mentioned that anyone wanted ffmpeg installed! The topic was about issues with converting, it came down to problems with mencoder and various other asociated issues.
As stated I have fully managed dedicated & some ecperience with whm & server management, but I take advantage of skilled qualified techs at my Hosting dedicated server incase things go wrong.......
& eventually thank you for respecting my request, Name calling was not needed... (That is a personal Insult!)

That was just a joke and not meant to be hurtful. Just poking fun. Reinstalling mencoder was mentioned and that is why I offered that script because it would make sure your mencoder was installed correctly. The script installs all requirements for vshare and Mencoder is one of them. You are getting angry instead of trying to see that I, in fact, am trying to help you. I will not make the mistake of trying to help again. Good luck. Cheers.

This is probably because you have an older mplayer version. They made a major change to mplayer a couple of months back (installs via SVN), and many servers still have the older (RPM installed) version. I had the same problem, and here's what worked for me:
Open include/settings/video_conversion.php
Look for
Code:
// For rpm (old) version of mplayer
// $cmd_mencoder = "$config[mencoder] '$video_src' -o $video_flv -of lavf -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=56 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=flv:vbitrate=500:mbd=2:mv0:trell:v4mv:cbp:last_pred=3 -srate 22050 -lavfopts i_certify_that_my_video_stream_does_not_use_b_frames";
// For latest svn version of mplayer
$cmd_mencoder = "$config[mencoder] '$video_src' -o $video_flv -of lavf -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=56 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=flv:vbitrate=500:mbd=2:mv0:trell:v4mv:cbp:last_pred=3 -srate 22050 -ofps 24 -vf harddup";
and change it to
Code:
// For rpm (old) version of mplayer
$cmd_mencoder = "$config[mencoder] '$video_src' -o $video_flv -of lavf -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=56 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=flv:vbitrate=500:mbd=2:mv0:trell:v4mv:cbp:last_pred=3 -srate 22050 -lavfopts i_certify_that_my_video_stream_does_not_use_b_frames";
// For latest svn version of mplayer
// $cmd_mencoder = "$config[mencoder] '$video_src' -o $video_flv -of lavf -oac mp3lame -lameopts abr:br=56 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=flv:vbitrate=500:mbd=2:mv0:trell:v4mv:cbp:last_pred=3 -srate 22050 -ofps 24 -vf harddup";
In other words, remove the two //'s from in front of the top "$cmd_mencoder =" command, and put them in front of the bottom one. This forces the converter to use the top command instead of the bottom one. It's possible you've got an older version of mplayer that needs the "-lavfopts i_certify_that_my_video_stream_does_not_use_b_fram es" option.
-
Re: yes been asked before "Convert Isues" pro install
By the way, another thing you can try is bypassing Mplayer altogether and using ffmpeg to do your video conversion. To do that, open the same file and change
Code:
$cmd_all = $cmd_mencoder;
to
Code:
$cmd_all = $cmd_ffmpeg;
-
failed conversion
Is my video_conversion.php up to date? Because I keep having problems converting bigger .wmv files
Here is a convert log which looks really crazy http://youtubeoutlaws.com/templates_...rt_log_20.html
Please look at it and let me know what looks wrong.
PHP Code:
<?php
$cmd_ffmpeg = "$config[ffmpeg] -i '$video_src' -acodec libmp3lame -ar 22050 -ab 32 -f flv $video_flv";
# For old version of mplayer

Anybody? Somebody
My conversions keep timing out saying database has went away. I have tried every variation with ffmpeg and mplayer and flv tool disabled and enabled. Somebody please help me.

Increasing mysql time out.
From your log, it look like process is killed in half way, may be server overloaded or some program kill the process.

Is it something done from WHM Access or in phpmyadmin? Can I increase it to to much? Thanks

No, this can only done by server admin in command line.
