racy The racy parameter allows a search result set to include restricted content as well as standard content. Valid values for this parameter are include and exclude. By default, restricted content is excluded. Feed entries for videos that contain restricted content will contain an additional <yt:racy> element.
How do I get the script to restrict (go to default)?
I would like to know this too...I checked my logs and a lot of the niche scripts are being used for adult content and I don't want that. I'm probably going to just shut down the sites completely until we get some kind of filter for this or just remove the search box and make people use the links to the keywords that I have up.
The script has it turned on. The admin can fix this there is a page on it.Quote:

I cant find a place where it is open for turning off or to over ride the script. It must be their encoded scripts.
It really sucks. I lost 39,000 pages indexed and had a site up for 2 years to get the pagerank gone from search 2 days ago with no word. From help on google webmasters we determined the issue. This must get fixed fast. I have plans for 20 of these by the next couple weeks and some are up working already and I now lost a pretty good site for it. Another one lost rank and I wondered why but was not banned. The keywords are not as bad. The one that got banned is a natural spam thing so it HAS to be turned off to keep the porn off.
COME ON ADMIN! GIVE US THE TICKET! Turn off that racy tag!
Admin has been ignoring my requests about affiliate links and payout, so don't hold your breath on this one. (If anybody here is also an affiliate and has gotten paid, please PM me on how you did it, cos nobody from buyscripts is talking to me and I imagine a paypal invoice would also just be ignored.)
I believe the freebie niche script that Jeremy has is in safe mode. I'm going to use that one inspite of the fact that it doesn't have a few of the other features like player list and all that, which more than over-weights this problem.
where can we find this script?
as far as affilates, the never get paid anywhere.
What you do is sell the product and pay him his fee instead. Make an agreed price.
Well, I had already signed up for the affiliate thing but that's turning out to be a complete bust so I removed all the links for it from my site.
I tried to reach admin about reseller information but still, no body is talking to me which really blows.
Yeah, like the agreed price for the affiliate program and then ignore any emails I get about paying him. I wonder how well that would fly if the shoe was on the other foot.Quote:

All these niche video scripts are exactly the same engine with page creation and tweeks by different programmers. WHomever did the actual base engine has to be contacted to get the code and change it so that the restricted content is not there. I think the base engine was made by porn places to infiltrate the content into good content providers. Giving it free to programmers who were happy to place their page creations around the engine and offer it. But inside is a program that will spill porn spam into unsuspecting websites. Something like that?
Might sound like a conspiracy theory, just like I think new sound cards coming out purposely don't have the sound mixer option in the drivers by pressure of the recording industry so that people can't record what they hear on their computers anymore...
...but there is definitely a problem with porn links showing up with these youtube feeders. I am just now going through the google link you provided and there is a way to get it to show by keywords and eliminating words frrom the keyword function, but I don't know how to apply it to the script (either the Niche one that buyscripts is selling or any of the freebies out there).
LIke this onewill give you videos with "bass" in it (as in music) but nothing to do with fishing. If we can eliminate the porn words maybe that would help until the restricted content can be removed?Code:http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos/-/bass/-fish/-fishing
Until this is settled, I'm going to have to remove the niche scripts entirely since I can't afford to be having porn stuff showing up.
Have you noticed any silence on this matter?
Deafening.
The thing is you should be able to feed that code to the API with search terms of "porn" and not get restricted material. You can add the racy=off into that too and it should do the same but default is off. So something overides that in the encoded part of the scripts. I found the command line and added the racy off command and it did not good.Quote:

You moved to Cirtex? I have an account there too. I have not installed any vshare sites there yet.
No, I moved away from Cirtex to APTHosting. Was a bit rough going there at first, I signed up right in the middle of when they were doing server migrations and increases in CPU/RAM and then they turned on phpsuexec on my server when they weren't supposed to (techs went a little wild with the upgrades and didn't know when to stop) and that caused a lot of mayhem... but everything seems to be settling down now.
Is the freebie script encoded too? I haven't had time to look.
Yeah the freebie is identical except for some page creation stuff.
There is no real way to turn it off. I guess in the next month or so I will look at creating one that does the right thing. I think there has to be an exclusion list created to error on certain words or a list to cross check and delete from any search or tag. Bit overwhelming actually but I bet it can be patched. The freebie guy did some quick fix. The code does not change much but adding the keyword could help in cases where Latino or some other porn keyword was not important. He uses "funny" so even if you look up porn the search goes out as funny porn and not so much junk comes up. The racy tag does not stop diddly squat. You can try it on the command line and see what Youtube feeds back. Youtube lies, you can get restricted even with the tag.
Crapola.
If you come up with such an animal, I'll be the first in line to get one.
I'm using both the freebie and the Niche Video Script that I paid $5 for, for each domain it's on.
One thing I did do is remove the search box from all the niche sites. I've been monitoring my referrers in my cPanel Stats and I haven't seen any porn links....yet. I have one Niche Video Script for a video game and I think that the kids coming to the site were entering porn words in the search. I think removing the search box helped to stop a lot of the porn links, as I have not seen any since removing the search box.
That is a good idea, I will have to do that too.
There may be even a bigger issue as I try to get that site relisted.
The fact that ANYTHING will turn up a page from the robots.
After they finish looking at the tags and links they try to send a bad name to get a bad result.
like sitename.com/video/thiscantbeanameforadirectoryatall and the damn thing turns up a page. This causes havoc and they will turn the spider off if it starts to go forever to get a 404 error instead of a regular page (even if it says no videos for this term).
You can try it with things like //+++===0123e193 and you will get a page. In your error logs you will always see these strange things and file names, they are robots seeing if you give a proper 200 server error with a 404 page and this script does not.
I know that if you enter the URL in the address box and then put in any keyword string, you'll get a page...I am just hoping the kiddies don't figure that one out.
I'm on my way to checking my logs for spidery residue....I'll let you know.
