Failed To Find Flength File

HI,

When I enable this script as per the instructions here - vShare - Enable upload progress bar - vShare

I get an error - "Failed To Find Flength File"

I followed the instructions on this page - Uber-Uploader - Free File Upload Progress Bar but that did not fix the error.

This is due to cgi setup on the server. It work perfectly on cpanel servers. Are you on plesk server ?

I am on a DirectAdmin server.

I am not familiar with DirectAdmin, will you able to post virtual host entry for your web site ?

Have you set path in cgi-bin/ubr_upload.pl ?

I have put the path to the folder templates_c there.

There is a mssg there "# MUST BE DUPLICATED IN THE "UBR_INI.PHP" FILE" but I cannot find any UBR_INI.php file in my installation.

This can be a server permission related issue. php, perl scripts running as different user or some thing. Ask your server admin which system user runs perl and php scripts. By deault it is run by user nobody. There are option to run it as the user that owned the site (suexec). If php and perl are run by different users, there will be problem with finding length of the uploded file.

Reply from host : I have disabled suexec on your machine and there is no change in the script behavior.

Still no dice :(

Have been trying everything, still can't get it to work.

Bumping for help please

It look like a DirectAdmin ubr upload problem. May be they run perl different way. In plesk, there is two ways, one mod_perl and other cgi. If set mod_perl it won't work.

Thx once again. Due to your help my hosts have managed to fix the problem. But they had to disable Nginx to do that, and now the load on my machine is rising!

Any ideas on a workaround?

if you could move static files to a different domian, you can serve it with nginx. If not, you may need to use nginx progress bar module, there is one for lighttpd, not sure about nginx.

You need to add new server in vshare admin, once you done that, new videos get uploaded to the server you added. Existing videos can be moved to remote server, you need to update video_server_id filed in videos table with id of the server you are moving the videos to.

I have same error, but i disable nginx and this no work. Write once not find flength file, still load and next write error:

What is the path you set in ubr_upload.pl for $TEMP_DIR

The path set normal, directory have chmod 777. The chmod ubr_upload.pl have 755. Control panel DirectAdmin.

The error is due to wrong path. See

Can't say with out checking. It can be wrong path in the ubr_upload.pl file or server problem. Mail me at [email protected] i can check.
