Add videos from Youtube, still hosted at Youtube.
This was touched upon in another thread but not answered.
I'd like to simply be able to add the Youtube embed code to import videos from them, so that they are still hosted at youtube.
What is the point in hosting them myself when youtube are already hosting them and actively encourage you to embed their videos on your site?
So where we now have the excellent import video feature, underneath might be: "Or use video embed code" - so the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4 would automatically be placed in the space our hosted video would normally occupy.
Is this ever likely to be in a future release? If not, I'll get a coder to do it for me.
Re: Add videos from Youtube, still hosted at Youtube.
I am using a free script that allows me to display videos hosted on Youtube. The thumbnail image is automatically saved on the site when a video is submitted. Maybe you can look into their code to implement it on Vshare. I think this feature would be a great addition. Not only because it will save our servers a lot of resources when Youtube already has the video but also because we will get new incoming links from Youtube with their "Link" function in each video.
Their script can be found here: (To run it you need the Xoops CMS)

The page is in japanese but you can see it running on my english website:
