Runtime - in Minutes/Seconds?

Can we get RUNTIME in minutes and seconds?

And when I see "Runtime: 232.73", what exactly does that mean?

Is that 232.73 seconds?

Right now, I'm also getting strange behavior from the "Runtime" feature... Every few videos, one will upload with a "0" runtime, even when it's several minutes long.

To show duration in minutes and seconds, edit /tmplates/index.tpl

We will look into the duration problem, this may be due to ffmpeg-php is not able to get duration from video format you are uploading.

Thanks for that, but it looks like the runtime has to be manually changed in several templates, which I'm not real sure how to do.

It would be awesome if you could select between the two runtime formats through the admin panel.

Agreed, runtime in minutes and seconds would be the most logical.

i changed it in all the templates but it only works on index.tpl.....admin can we have it working on all pages?

I changed it where necessary, but the code on line 186 of video.tpl is slightly different, and doesn't work when you replace it with:

If the runtime shows zero there a good chances your connection to the server was cut and only half of that file would be converted to .flv.

Go to video.tpl - there are two occurances, one for "Detailed View" and one for "Basic View".
Replace both.:)

Another one I discovered to use this on is user_videos.tpl

I used Dreamweaver's "find" for the syntax and changed instances of it that it found, which were mostly in files with the word "video" as part of the name.

I just noticed a small problem with this...if the time is 3:03, it displays as 3:3 (dropping the zero).

How do I get it to show the zero?

Who reads runtimes in seconds anyway?


Admin, can you please make the next update with all of these corrections?

I want the minutes and seconds runtime.. Not only seconds, if that is what it is?

I'm just affraid that I'm going to go and make all of these changes only to have a new release come out and negate all of the corrections I have made.

Just so y'all know and to repeat above post that may have gotten lost...there is one flaw...it does not show the seconds correctly when the time is less than 10 seconds. If the time, for example is 3:03, it will appear as 3:3 (leaving out the zero). I don't know how to adjust for that and am hoping someone can give us the solution.

What I did was keep this in a notepad document for future reference so that when a new template comes out, I use the "find/replace" feature of my editor (I use Dreamweaver) to make these changes. I suggest y'all do same. :)

Do a global "find all" in Dreamweaver of your Vshare folder of the word "Runtime"

And change every place you see something like this....:

Yes, it says "1 seconds" ... in the plural. No one cares. Everyone gets it. Will only occur on the very rare videos that happen to go exactly one second over a full minute of time.


OR, if you are able, and insist on the MM:SS format, work up some kind of "if" statement that says "IF the runtime minutes =< 9, put a text '0' before displaying the seconds"

yeah, I'd really really like it to read 3:03 but don't know scripting.
