    Default Video Quality

    Hi, I was wondering how I can improve the video quality? Watching this clip on my com is really clear but once i uploaded it on this site it's very blurry. It's it to do with the video player? or the script? Some clips on the site r so clear while others r so blurry, is there a reason?

    the very first frame it looks great but then after that it does go very blocky and blured.

    i have seen this on a few videos, maybe its to do with the orginal codec and how its converted. what filetype or codec does it use and do you have any other videos in the same codec/format that you can try?

    P.S. she does do it like a pro ;)

    ok i just downloaded the orginal file from your site and the FLV, its a:

    file= Wmv
    codec = Windows Media Video V8
    audio= Windows Media Audio 9 96 kbps, 48 kHz, stereo (A/V) 1-pass CBR
    bitrate = 1.53 Mbps
    video size = 512 x 384
    Aspect ratio = 4:3

    The FLV file is blured so its not the flash player and must be a problem when converted.

    Do you have SSH access?...maybe try manually encoding it to FLV with different options to see if its better quaility?

    Oh this is not my site, I'm trying to test the clip on this site to see if i get the same video qulaity prob. I've tried mpeg n avi videos, get the same prob. All i did was used the upload function, now is there a much better software for converting it to the flv format?

    The conversion is way too hard in the script right now.
    Admin replied in another thread that they are working on making these setting available to us in a config file, so we all can adjust the compression and conversion to fit our needs.

    Hopefully this will come in the next update.

    If you download current version, you will be able to modify convertion command, this is not through admin area. The file you need to modify (if you need to change convertion command/settings) is include/settings/video_conversion.php

    If you need to use this with your existing vShare, just upload

    upload.php
    include/settings/video_conversion.php
    include/settings/upload.php
    Upload the files in BINARY mode.

    For some reason, I've not got those files. Anyone got a link ?

    Edit to add:
    Forget that, just read the announcements. The latest version is in there.
    Look, it's not steep till you need to stop ok !

    Here's the update: http://forums.buyscripts.in/viewtopic.php?t=318

    right now it's set for 500......what would be a better bitrate to put the video_converstion.php?
    If it's not fun, stop doing it!

    If its the same as my converter and most converter programs the 500 usually means 500kbs, now this is ok if your clientel all have 512 broad band but if you want quality...and your server can handle the conversion go for 1mb or even 768kbs. (But i havent looked into what the number actually means, but at a guess id say the conversion streaming rate)

    I set mine at 700 which is working OK. You can easily double the flv file size by increasing the bitrate though.

    There's nothing but test files but you can see them at http://www.tubebucket.com

    Feel free to try your uploads for a comparison if you want.
