Must join after viewing 3-4 videos

I would like to require joining my site after 3-4 videos have been watched. My video site get great traffic however I do not think enough people are actually signing up. I do want people to watch videos without being signed up but just enough for them to want more.

Is this a dumb idea or does someone agree with me?

This is already in place...all you have to do is go to your admin panel and then drop guest limit to about 60
