    thanks for reply anth0ny, looks like it fixed the issue...

    now another question...

    when you complete installation, it says to chmod include/config.php to 755, but on the installation help page (vShare Version 2.7 Installation) it says to (Change permission of folder "include" and file "include/config.php" to 644)... which one is the correct one...?

    also, for the videos that i upload from my PC, i dont get thumbnails... any ideas...?

    (1) Set 644 permission for include/config.php

    (2) Login to admin area

    Site Settings > Miscellaneous > Create Thumbnail with

    You have 3 options, select a different option and try upload a new video and see if thumbnails are created.

    Yes, vShare player(player.swf ) is in Player folder

    if i don't upload videos to the site, and only add videos using the youtube embed for now, do i still need to host the site on the server that supports ffmpeg and others...?

    You can embed videos on almost any server.
    Nothing special needed like ffmpeg as its just a Iframe
    All Players exc are hosted at youtube's end
