Do i need a to physically posses a server for this

I am a little confused i guess and cant seem to get the right answer. Do i need to physically own and run my own server on my side in addition to webhost's server. Or do i just chose a webhost that has the server requirements that i need like hostonnet.com offers?

You can use any host with requirements like ffmpeg installed
