    Default Files vanish after FTP?

Is there a reason that after I upload the vShare files and folders to the server, they become invisible through my FTP program?

I can view them ONLY through cPanel's online FTP file viewing program.
For some reason the REMOTE FILES and FOLDERS for the vshare are not viewable through Dreamweaver, Cute FTP or even WSFTP.

Is this because the files were created with encryption? Or is there something else I am doing wrong?

It seems that I may just be forced to give up soon and pay for the installation. But I'd so much rather understand this and have it function like the other scripts I've been able to configure.

Default FTP still doesn't like me.

Thanks everyone for your willingness to help. I still am boggled as to why I cannot see the file folders or even the files using any of the following:
    • Dreamweaver CS3
      WSFTP
      CuteFTP
      CoffeeCup
But I can access some of the files through of all horrible things, Frontpage! Oh, I can also do very basic transfers via my cPanel FTP client. I just cannot understand why of all the sites I've built... this vShare folder completely vanishes from my view.

Am I truly the only person on the planet this is happenning to?

Here are screen captures of what each FTP client is showing.

Check with your webhost. I had a problem with viewing files one time (long time ago) and it turned out to be a setting with the host. Check with them.

I use CoreFTP light and FileZilla....no problems with either client.
If it's not fun, stop doing it!

Default I'll give the hosting company a shout...

Thanks! I was planning on that to be my very last resort. But since you suggested it, I'll send my hosting company a support request ticket.

FTP will not show files if the file is owned by different user, cpanel is not like FTP, it have more privileges. Better ask your web host. vshare files are normal files, nothing different from other type of files, if we could make such special file... a patent is pending... :D
