DO NO USE NETWORK SOLUTIONS FOR DOMAIN NAME SEARCH

I needed to share a little bit of information I ran into about searching for a domain name for your vshare site. DO NOT USE NETWORK SOLUTIONS to do this. Use someone else. Reason being that Network Solutions will automatically and instantly register any domain name you search for, thereby forcing you to get it only from them for $35 instead of getting it cheaper at any of the other discount domain registrars.

I know this is true because I searched godaddy for a domain, and they said it was already taken. I went to network solutions for the SAME domain and voila, it was magically available. See related article below exposing their "frontrunner" practice which started in December 2007:
