Admin listing per page

I see this in my admin under Miscellaneous --> "Admin listing per page" - wht does this mean and what does it do?

It is number of items displayed in admin area per page. Now, not all page use it, we are working on to make all pages use this value for displaying number of items, almost all pages will follow this value on v 2.5
