    Default Videos convert twice

I'm not sure if this is a vshare problem or a config problem on my server but when a video file is uploaded and then converting to FLV starts, the file gets converted fully to FLV and then resets back to 0 bytes and gets converted again.

This doesn't happen if done manually through SSH though.

Can someone do a test and see if it happends on your site as well, just upload say a 5mb file (not a FLV file) through your site. Then with your FTP client go to your flvideo folder and sort by date so you can see the file that gets created. when the upload has finished keep refreshing the view in your FTP client and you will see the FLV file size increase as it is converting. check if the filesize then resets to 0 bytes and then starts increasing again.

This is using Background conversion mode.

Did you still need this tested? If so what's the path of the directory to see the file uploading?

How do I know if I'm using Background conversion mode? I just uploaded a small video but nothing is coming up in the flvideo directory immediately so I'm not sure how to test this properly. If you let me know how I'll be happy to test it.

hi bane...yes this still needs testing.

You can enable Background conversion mode from admin panel in "Miscellaneous" and then change the "Video Processing" option.

Then you will need the cron job setting up to process the videos, you can find how to do that here viewtopic.php?t=826

    thanks

It happens exactly like you said, it converts once and then starts over and converts again.

Watched it in FTP although I used realtime processing when background didn't kick in fast enough for me.

    thanks for confirming it bane

admin this must be a vshare bug then as this doesn't happen when done manually from command line, will this be fixed for vshare 2.6 as it will greatly reduce the time taken to convert and server resources used.
