How do I get replies to posts to appear in comments

Right now when I click to reply to a comment made to one of my videos, it sends a PM to the original poster, rather than have my reply appear on the comments section with the rest of them. How do I get my replies to appear on the page instead of PM'ing the original poster?

i just removed the reply button. agree it would be better to have it reply as a comment though

This is an old thread, yea, but with 2.6 I can't seem to find the "reply" code anywhere in the view_video.tpl to take out the link for "Reply" in the video comments section (because I don't want replies to be sent as a private message, I want them to be public). How do we remove the link?
