I can only seem to figure out how to upload video via flv or embedd, i know before you could choose a file from your computer..where did that go and how do i find it?

It's still there. When you do the upload, choose the local option as opposed to the remote option. The only way that it would not be there is if you mistakenly removed the option from your upload template.
