Count Embed views

I know in 2.7 that embedded videos still count the number of views. Is there a way to make this happen in 2.6?

My media site is separate from my main site and I'd like to use the embed function in my news posts but still have the views counted.

It is better upgrade to 2.7.

I've tried multiple times but every time it hasn't worked out. I don't think the servers im on supports it.

For now I'm sticking with 2.6 to avoid having to re-do the whole thing for a third time.
