Related Videos.

The related video system is horrific.

I will be watching slipknot - wait and bleed and it will say like king of the hill, burn out revenge trailer and like bunch of fast and the furious videos are related.. they dont even have the same keywords or anything related at all.

Did you just make it so it randomly selects crap? or is it actually supposed to work and you didnt set it up properly?

You could ask in a nicer way. I think for the most part the related vids feature works. What is a link to your site so I can check it out?

Video is selected by searching the video table for tags used in the current video. The related videos you see must have keywords used in currently viewing video.

If you see a different video, post the url, i can check why it shows.

Upgrade to latest release if you have not already done.

Seems your new version fixed it.

Some dont have related videos but thats no big deal.

My "related videos" isn't working at all and I don't know why. I have videos that I know have the same tags in them and not a single one shows up.

The only thing I can think of is that in right.tpl I deleted the whole "tags" box. But that shouldn't affect the view_video.tpl where it says "related videos" should it?

Can you show two videos having same tag now showing each other in related video section ?

I put my profile name in all videos that I post plus I put the name of the video series in each one (there are over 20 of them). None of the related videos show up.

I'll just wait for the next release and see if that doesn't fix something that I might have messed with.

Again, deleting the tags box from "right.tpl" wouldn't affect view_video.tpl, would it?
