    Default Here comes a dumb query on link removal

    Hey all - no matter how I try I cant find the link which appears under the admin login box (powered by vShare) so I can remove it.

    Admin - it looks like you might be running phpBB - is there any chance of enabling the search function so that we can find stuff more easily and so I don't have to ask questions which annoy everybody?

    i think that one is hard coded into the admin/index.php as there is no template for the login part

    Search is enabled on the forum....http://forums.buyscripts.in/search.php

    Hey just create your own admin/index.php page and paste in the following code:

    Code:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <title>{$site_name} - Admin </title>
    <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
    <link href="{$baseurl}/templates/css/admin.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
    </HEAD>

    <BODY bgColor=#ffffff leftMargin=0 topMargin=0 marginheight="0" marginwidth="0">

    <CENTER>

    <FORM id=_ctl0 name=_ctl0 action="index.php" method="post">

    <DIV id=mainbody>

    <TABLE cellSpacing=15 cellPadding=0 width=650 align=center border=0>

    <TR>
    <TD vAlign=top width="55%">

    <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 width="400" bgColor=#dddddd border=0 align=center>
    <TR>

    Hey thanx you two

    spun2u - I think that Leki is right. If you have a version of the uncoded
    index.php I'd be interested - otherwise I might see if I can get the original source software to work for this page, which may not be too difficult dependent on a number of factors of course. Might be that the input functions don't need php to operate tho' I'll have a look.

    Cheers

    Yeah its definitely in index.php - I have to shoot out - when I get back I'll continue to work on it.

    The link is in index.php, next release onwards, it will be in template file.

    For now, download the file

    http://www.buyscripts.in/tmp/index.zip

    unzip and upload it to your admin folder.

    Many thanx admin - I have a press release coming up and it conflicted with my branding.

    If anyone out there wants to know how to go about the whole press release process I'll be putting it up a hidden page on my site in the next few days and a link for everyone here.
    The average press release brings in quite a bit of traffic.

    a press release?

    Yesiree Leki - a product of a misspent business degree is that I got to do a fair number of marketing papers. A press release is a super cheap way of driving traffic to your site. I'll put together a blurb on how to do it and show the actual release that I'm going to use. My one will be targeted at the papers - most of the articles in papers are press releases from outside agencies such as big businesses that want their point of view put across for their own reasons. However small players can do it too - hell I have on a number of occasions. So much so that the reporter who I now use at one paper is sending me emails at the mo asking when I'm going to get the release to him. They like free articles - it makes their job easier.

    Press release is good free promotion. But you need to know how to write it to be accepted by many PR sites. There are few sites, that even accept spam as press release.

    Let us wait for tips from Hoss :D

    That's 100% correct admin.
    A poor press release will just get binned. It's also useful to form a relationship with individual reporters. That's a time thing but is easily possible. Local papers are a good place to start as they are always short of local interest stories. you know 'Local boy takes on the world online' - that sort of thing. Also you need a good picture, an image of you standing there like a passport photo won't get you anywhere. An image of you getting attacked by an axe-wielding chicken will get you on the front page if there's no other big story.
    I'll be out of town for a couple of days but when I get back I'll get something happening for everyone who's interested
