Create Thumbnail - START

If your templates_c/debug.txt shows "Create Thumbnail - START" as last line when uploading a video, the problem is with ffmpeg-php not able to create thumbnail.

To verify, download following script, unzip and upload to your server.

Regarding the Create Thumb button in the Admin screens

This feature is nice but I have some videos where the first second or two is black or solid color with a text like a title or credit. I find that no matter how many times I click on Create Thumb, the first thumbnail is always from this black section. Is there a way of selecting one of the other thumbs that were created so that would become the main thumbnail when the video is shown as a recently viewed video?

Great question jayscot, i was just about to ask the same question. 3 Thumbs are created but you cannot choose which one to use. Any suggestions?

Some times create thumbnail and some times not is due to bad installation of ffmpeg/ffmpeg-php. You may need to reinstall latest version of both ffmpeg and ffmpeg-php. If you check apache error log when this happens you will see some ffmpeg errors when thumbnail is not created.

You can contact hostonnet, so they can verify if it is ffmpeg problem. If it is ffmpeg problem, it happens to same video at random.

Hello, this has probably been answered but I can't seem to find or understand it.

I can upload vids with no problem (got the cgi right) but i'm not sure about this ffmpeg thing.

Here's the error i'm getting after running vshare_test.

Before - ffmpeg_movie(1.wmv)

Fatal error: Class 'ffmpeg_movie' not found in /home/mysite/public_html/vshare/vshare_test/thumb.php on line 8


Any help will be greatly appreciated as I need to get this script running right.
