When converting The site doesn't load. Help

Hi, when I convert videos from the admin panel or when I upload the videos from the user side, the whole site doesn't load until the video is converted or uploaded. I am not sure whether it is just the person uploading who can't load the site or all the users. I think it might be for everyone. Help please...else when I convert the videos , my users can't surf the site.
