Thread: Fresh installation does not work!

  1. #1

Default Fresh installation does not work!

Just installed 2.7 and some of the paths are wrong!!

For example when I click the login button on the main page it goes to /login instead of login.php, so I manually go to login.php and type in my login and it forwards me again to /login/

This is a fresh 2.7 install !! WHAT THE HECK!

No, the paths are correct. What you didn't do was upload the .htaccess file that is included in your zip file. By default, many computer systems are set to hide .htaccess files so there is a good chance that you missed it. You will need to set your computer to show all files and folders, then upload the .htaccess file to your site. Then, all of those paths will work correctly.

Does your web host allow you to use .htaccess files? If it's there and not working, it's usually due to your host not allowing .htaccess files.

No. You need to find out from your hosting provider if they allow .htaccess files. You do have the .htaccess file in your vShare directory right?
