It won't use much cpu, it may be server is already overloaded causing the problem. How much bandwidth you use per month ?

Try enabling cache in admin area, so cpu usage will be reduced. Again it is upto the web host, some offer too much for nothing, that type of hosts can't host large sites. Bandwidth and cpu usage always cost... even if your host offer you unlimited everything, that is just to get customers, not every customer have video sites, so they can keep 99% of customers with out problem.

We provide vshare hosting, it will be $20 per month for 20 GB web space + 400 GB monthly bandwidth.

i'm just wondering why my site would be overheating on CPU usage?

i have cron job clearing guest info every 5 mins and temporarily blocked view_video.php and video.php and the server is still overheating

what else can I change to remedy this?

better still what is going on here?

Set guest limit to 0, there will no guest_info. Then most cpu usage will be in showing related video.

    hi thanks for your reply.

1/ currently guests have to register/log in to view.
2/ I have removed "currently being watched" carousel from index. Is "showing related video" the same thing?
