i'm just wondering why my site would be overheating on CPU usage?

i have cron job clearing guest info every 5 mins and temporarily blocked view_video.php and video.php and the server is still overheating

what else can I change to remedy this?

better still what is going on here?

Set guest limit to 0, there will no guest_info. Then most cpu usage will be in showing related video.

    hi thanks for your reply.

1/ currently guests have to register/log in to view.
2/ I have removed "currently being watched" carousel from index. Is "showing related video" the same thing?

Related video is on view_video page, right side of the video. Other than this, there is nothing that can use more cpu. Still more is depends on the server. We do host many vshare sites, no sites have such problems.

    hmm...

i'm wondering if something became corrupt during host move?

i did re-upload all my v2.7 files again. but maybe it's database related?

In most web applications, CPU time is spend on mysql, not on script. So exactly know, what takes CPU, need to look mysql processes. With out that, everything is trail and error, not easy to measure actual changes.
