but will i be able to install the product, if the installation script detects that ffmpeg (or others) is not installed on the server...?

It only looks for ffmpeg exc when you upload a video file so it can be converted to FLV format.

It does not call for ffmpeg when you are embedding
it just stores the code in the database and when it is watched it calls for
the softwares youtube has
