I want to implement ads on the pages, which I guess can be Adsense or any other Ad marketplace. I should be able to select areas on the template where I can put the ads. Does this feature come along with the default script?

You can add advertisements by editing .tpl files in templates folder. Mostly template names are related to its functions, for example, header is header.tpl, footer is footer.tpl, index template is index.tpl

When you add HTML ads code in template, put {literal} and {/literal} before and after of ads code.
