Default Missing Pages / 404 Errors

I have installed 3 times now (using the recommended servers - HostOnNet vShare package), uploaded in FTP Binary mode, checked the mySQL servers - all should be fine.

But many aspects are not working - I get this when clicking a thumbnail :

    ...

    Not Found
The requested URL /view/1/fire-fall/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    ...

...and this when clicking the RSS link :

    ...

    Not Found
The requested URL /rss/new/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    ...

    ...and numerous other missing parts...

    any ideas ?

    Many Thanks.

The URL for the site is :

    http://koolfilmz.com

    See

    http://forums.buyscripts.in/viewtopic.php?t=53

You have not uploded .htaccess file to your web server (or web server do not support .htaccess).

I am hosting on the specialised vShare servers, and have installed the .htaccess file in the main dir.

    Any further ideas ?

    Thanks.

Reupload .htaccess from the vshare.zip to your public_html folder.

After uploading, if you have problem, PM me your login details, i can check.

I installed vShare today and I'm having the same problem.

All other rewrites in the .htaccess file appear to be working but when clicking on a tag it returns the message 'Please type a search key'

    Any ideas?

The problem is with mod rewrite is not working properly on your server. It is mostly caused by .htaccess file.

    OK I found my problem.

I had RewriteEngine on in my httpd.conf with a few redirects for different domain names, by adding the entries in the .htaccess to my httpd.conf and removing the .htaccess file solved the problem.

    Thanks

    Greg
