upload problems

OK...now for some reason when I upload as a user the files just keep saying "converting " or fails....but when I upload through admin it works fine...what gives?

With which tipe of files are you having this problem?

with ALL files. It used to work fine before...i dont know why it doesnt now...nothing significant had changed except the addition of cron and even since then it worked....some time between after cron was installed to now it just stopped letting users upload.

when they do they are taken to a blank page or a 404 page....

and once it actually said video uploaded and will be added shortly....but just sat on conversion!
