Mpeg files thumb problem

hello...i got latest version of ffmpeg installed, avi files work great, but there is a problem with mpg files...they play, but i do not get thumb created.

can you please tell me exactly which version of ffmpeg to install, and which codecs?

You always try to get the newest release available. If your thumbs arent showing its a sign that either your ffmpeg isnt installed correctly or its not guided to the right spot, or your thumb folder is not CHMOD777.

ok i switched to mencoder, same thing :(
mpg video is there, working, but there is no thumb created for it.
avi files works great

thumb creation is done by ffmpeg-php, so you need ffmpeg and ffmpeg-php working properly on the server.

it should work fine with this config?

Yes, you have it. But i can't say it will work or everything installed properly. If thumbnail is not working, you need to look into your ffmpeg and ffmpeg-php installation.
