Are you sure vps going down or vps just block you ?

If you have some rate limiting software installed on VPS, that can block uploading as progress bar make lot of request.

Try turning off upload progress bar to see if you are getting blocked from vps by such software.

If vps going down, it may be some resource limit of the VPS.
