install error mysql query

hi when i try and install vshare

i get this error

ERROR: Unable to execute query

SELECT * FROM poll_question WHERE start_date<='2007-12-06' AND end_date>='2007-12-06' ORDER BY rand() limit 1
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
