Video Comments NOT Spam-Secure !!

just did a test on the video-comments section and simply typed:

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

in a row and sent it.

What happend ?

The line doesnt do a break at a certain number of char`s in a row as one should think, no, it processes the complete spam into one line and the site-design gets stretched sidewards.

Thats VERY nasty, as soon some kids will figure that out they will make your complete site a mess. ^^

How can we fix this so that it automatically does a linebreak after lets say 30 chars in a row ?

In a world accustomed to "instant gratification", I can understand your frustration, but these things take time to figure out. Since it's not an immediate problem (apparanly no one is actively abusing your site in this fashion), I'm sure someone here is looking into it. I am looking into it and if/when I come up with solution, I will let you know and will post it here for whoever follows...if admin doesn't post it first.

In the meantime, IF someone does this to your site, go into admin panel and simply delete the comment.

While doing something else, I ran across this and may it be worth a try for the width problem when someone types in more characters than you'd like... add a new rule to the div that holds the content for the comments as this article suggests:

If you want to set a maximum width on your main content, you can do this by adding a new rule : "#content { max-width: 36em; }".

Although IE browsers will ignore this rule, other standards compliant browsers will not allow the content area to go wider that 36em - keeping the line length to a comfortable width.
