    Default Changing the currency $ symbol for other countries?

    Hi there. I'm currently working on the language translations for a german Utube clone and need to know how to change the default USD $ curency to the european EUR € instead? Keeping in mind that you're selling the script worldwide and that Europe actually has MANY COUNTRIES which all use the EUR symbol, this is actually quite important. Can you tell me specifically where to find the files and how to edit them in order to have the EUR symbol show up as the default currency on the video portal? I would very much appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

    The dollar sign ($) itself is just a symbol and is not stored in the database as dollars. Thus, you can simply change the template file to reflect your countries sign. For main viewing, this sign is located in the package_options.tpl file. If you notice, there is a line that states:
    Code:
    ${$package.price} per {$package.period}
    Change the first dollar sign ($) to be your countries monetary symbol.

    Thanks!

    I just missed the symbol since so much other code uses that symbol as well. Didn't notice the one digit hidden between all of the other stuff. Can't make use of that anyway though because when you get to the final payment step for paypal, that one stll shows the $ symbol as that appears to be the request from the DB. No biggie, that's something that I can deal with, but there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to swap out the month, year, days, pending, etc. options with the translated terms if I knew what *ALL* of the file were, the templates as well as the hard coded files. When all of that is "corrected" within all of the files, then it'll work online within the programme too.

    It's frustrating because all someone from vShare would have to say, is something simple like: "We don't provide that type of information unless you're willing to pay a fee for our time to do so" Then we could get on our merry way. And like I said in the other post, I would imagine that vShare could make even more money by offering 100% translated software. I'm already doing the work, but can't complete it because nobody will tell me where all of the files/information can be found.
    Ah, well, I'll have to figure something out.

    Honestly, it would be nice if the source code was not encrypted. Then you could do whatever you wish. However, because most of the code is in fact encrypted, we are limited to what can and cannot be done.
