    Default User Database

Is there a file or database where all my users username and passwords are listed? And if so, can I edit that file in order to mass add users? I lost about 100 users when I recently upgraded, and some have re-upped, but I'd like to make backup copies in case it happens again -- and I'd like the ability to mass import users.

it is all stored in your SQL database, do you use cpanel? use phpMyAdmin to view and edit and you can also backup your database which you should do before you perform upgrades

yep - I have cpanel... If I add a username/password in that file, will this automatically "preset up" their accounts?

i guess manually creating them would work, but you could have to set there password to an MD5 hash and make sure everything else was added correctly that vshare needs for the user....probably wouldn't advise it unless you know what your doing.

for doing back ups though there should be a backup section in cpanel which will allow you to back up your SQL databases.

Yeah -- I dont have the brains to do all that. I looked at the file and it looks like greek to me. I thought there was a simple list of users, passwords etc somewhere.. I didnt even see that.

I do not see anything in the database anywhere that refers to the UID, password or anything else that denotes a member account. Most scripts have a section for "users" or "members", but this one does not. Where the flip is vshare storing this info?

It is stored in the database in the "signup" table. The passwords are encrypted with MD5.
