    Default Rotating banners - Help?

    Hi,
    Am trying to use a php script to rotate my top banners. The script is Hiox Ad Manager. Have uploaded banners to it, and tried placing the code it generates into VShare in the "banner_top".

    The code is:
    Code:
    <?php
    	    $hm = "/home/user/public_html/ads";
    	    $hm2 = "http://domain.com/ads";
    	    include "$hm/hioxBannerRotate.php";
            ?>
    It is not displaying ads.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Michael

    vShare uses Smarty, so direct PHP invocation does not work within the scripts. It will be better to use web-based code that your ad script gives you (such as iFrames or Javascript) and not direct PHP invocation.

    Thanks for the quick reply. I have no idea how to do what you suggested.

    After looking at that script's homepage, I see why you have no idea how to do what I suggested. That script is incredibly simplistic and does not even appear to offer what I suggested. I would suggest that you look into a better Ad Management solution. I would suggest OpenX (http://www.openx.org). You can use their hosted solution (which is free up to 25 million ad impressions per month) which would not require you to run it on your own server. Or, you can download the software and install it on your site (also free).

    Anyone have any success getting OpenX ads to work in vShare? Can't seem to get the code to work?

    Cheers.. ;-)

    Put the openx invocation code in an HTML page and test it. setting up ads in openx is little complex for first time.

    Appreciate the reply.. I played with it a while & used different codes, "Remote Invocation" codes seemed to work 100% :)

    Cheers.. ;-)
