You have to understand, that he's likely to give priority first to the problems that affect most users, before attending to those that only affect a few. Is nothing personal - I'm sure he'll get to this.

nocomp, we know progress bar is very important, we will try to add this in next two release, upgrade progress bard can't be handled with PHP unless you install some special modules. This most of the servers don't know, so we need to dpend on perl script, so it will make things little difficult for most of the users. Anyway we will be adding this in next two months.
